Washington Trip Report '07
Summer '07 is on, and we are now in Washington continuing to look for the most classic class III - V runs for the River Gypsies' Guide to North America. Here's a report from the rainy Northwest, where we hope summer will arrive any day:
Leavenworth to Cle Elum
From there we drove to the Top Tye, where we ran a rapid or two but ended up taking out due to high water. We kept on trucking down to check out the Fall in the Wall section on the South Snoqualmie, but found it a bit low and wound up at Cooper Creek. Cooper is a fantastic class IV+/V- run in a beautiful area on the eastern slope of I-90 in the Cle Elum drainage. It has excellent drops in a small gorge, and incredibly scenic free camping all over the place. Andria and I have been there twice now, racking up several runs on this SUPER fun little creek.
Check back soon for lots more whitewater from Washington!
