Round Two

We had a relaxing day off, running the Salto with some friends who were in the area. We made our way back to Valles in the afternoon, where our second group arrived VERY late at night (early morning?). We took a slow start in the morning, having breakfast and creeking class by the hotel pool.

We start our trips with a classroom session on creeking techniques, going over everything that we plan to cover on the rivers all week.

After class, we loaded our gear and headed out for the Ojo Frio, stopping for lunch at the future Huasteca Secreta hub and hotel site at El Sauz.

This giant palapa will be the main check-in and restaurant for the Huasteca Secreta resorts.
Next year, we'll stay here instead of in Valles once this hotel is finished.

Fortifying yourself with a good lunch is essential before putting on tropical rivers in the sunshine.
Everybody is still looking a bit sleep deprived, though.

After another evening in Valles and a fantastic 7 course dinner at Buzios, we headed to the Cascadas Micos for the second day.
